Troubleshooting : Cannot connect or pair

Short answer

The most likely cause to Bluetooth pairing issues is that the audio device and speaker is too far apart. Move them within 10 meters of each other and try again.

If your Acton Bluetooth speaker cannot connect or pair with a Bluetooth device, there are several likely causes and troubleshooting options you can try:

  • Move the speaker and audio device closer to each other, so that they are within 10 metres and unobstructed by obstacles such as walls or doors.

  • Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your audio device.

  • The pairing timed out. Acton Bluetooth searches for devices for 3 minutes after pushing the pairing button.

  • If your audio device asks for a pin code, you usually do not need to enter one. However, if prompted, enter 0000.

  • Your device only supports Bluetooth HF (hands-free) area function. The speaker cannot connect using the Bluetooth HF area function. Try to connect using the included coil cord via AUX input instead.
