Formed in Goteborg, Sweden, in 1993, albums such as 1997's 'Glory To The Brave' and 1998's 'Legacy Of Kings' cemented Hammerfall as pioneers of modern Eighties heavy metal. Often credited with bringing back the melodies to metal, the band's world-wide crusade continued with 'Renegade' (2000), an album that generated a breakthrough for metal music in general in Sweden's mainstream media. Despite several line-up changes, further album releases in the 2000s served to make Hammerfall a household name in Sweden, as well as firmly implant the band in the minds of many metal fans all over the world. The band use Marshall lots of it and are seminal European festival favourites.
