How can I tell if my valves are faulty?
You may not see any obvious signs of a faulty valve but you may experience a change in sound quality or the way the valve glows. If you are at all concerned then we recommend you switch the amplifier off and have it checked by a qualified engineer.
How can I tell if one of my speakers is not working?
If you feel one of your speakers is not working, we recommend that you have it looked at by a qualified engineer.
Why does my fuse keep blowing?
If the fuse has been replaced correctly and still blows then there could be a problem with a valve or the power supply. Never replace a fuse with one of a larger value.
Why does my amplifier or combo keep crackling?
Crackling can be caused by a number of things such as faulty valves, damaged sockets or a faulty guitar. Have all your equipment thoroughly checked to find the culprit.
Why do I get a lot of background noise?
The model of the unit and the channel you’re using determines how much background noise you experience. Significant background noise often occurs when you stop playing and have the gain set high. You may be able to resolve this by unplugging the lead guitar from the input. If you experience significant background noise when playing, take your unit to your dealer to be checked.
Someone has spilt liquid on my amp. What should I do?
Do not use your unit until it has been checked by a qualified engineer. Damage of this kind is not covered by the warranty.
Why does my valve amplifier get hot when in use?
Valve amplifiers generate heat which is why we fit them with a grill at the back. It is normal for your amplifier to be hot to the touch when in use. If you have any concerns then get in contact with your Marshall Dealer.
Why is there a delay when changing channels on my amplifier?
You may experience this on some of our models. Due to the output power, we’ve added a small delay to reduce any noise when changing channels.
