Joey Santiago

Influenced by the likes of Chet Atkins, George Harrison and Jimi Hendrix, Joey Santiago is best known as the lead guitarist for the Pixies. The Boston-based alt-rock band rose to fame during the 80s and 90s with their sophomore album 'Doolittle'. The album was ranked as the second-greatest album of all time in a 2003 poll of NME writers and was especially popular in Europe peaking at No. 8 on the UK Albums Chart. Their unforgettable sound went on to inspire several legendary bands including, Nirvana, Weezer, Blur and Radiohead. The band broke up in 1993 but reunited in 2004, with their tour dates selling out in minutes. In the lead-up to its release, the creation of their 7th studio album 'Beneath the Eyrie' was documented on a podcast titled 'It's a Pixies Podcast' hosted by Tony Fletcher.

Outside of the band, Joey has composed music for film and TV, including scoring the soundtrack for 'Radiant City'.
