With a name you’ll recognise, and musical talent to match. Terry Marshall is one of the most ubiquitous and influential artists in modern music, and he is now releasing his first ever album, ‘Living The Blues’.
Beginning his musical career at 14, and turning professional at 16, Terry cites Count Basie and Little Richard as early influences. His network expanded to include icons like Eric Clapton and Pete Townshend, leading to the creation of the first Marshall amp with his father Jim. Despite focusing on amp production, Terry remained devoted to playing live.
Initially a session saxophonist, Terry’s career has been defined by his love of live performance. ‘Living The Blues’, released through our very own Marshall Records, features eleven blues classics played with top UK musicians, showcasing Terry Marshall’s lifelong dedication to music.
His debut album highlights emerging talent, while honouring blues traditions. It includes a mix of seasoned players like Nick Simper, and fresh voices including Laurence Jones. The record spans various blues styles, reflecting Terry’s belief in returning to basic to revitalise the genre.
‘Living The Blues’ is a testament to Terry Marshall’s legacy, embodying a life dedicated to music, and capturing the essence of live performance with raw emotion.
