THE VINYL VAULT

Spinning vinyl connects music lovers across generations. Each groove holds a personal story, a lesson in music history. This is music in its purest form. Vinyl is more than sound. It’s a culture, a ritual, and a cornerstone of authenticity. Here, you’ll get the latest on our vinyl partnerships, the best record-hunting tips, and everything you need to fuel your love for vinyl.

Celebrating the art of vinyl, all year round
Record stores are the heartbeat of vinyl culture, supporting local music in the same way as our very own Father of Loud. On April 12th, 2025, we’re celebrating Record Store Day (RSD) with exclusive releases, in-store events, and limited-edition pressings. Beyond RSD, we want vinyl culture and record stores to spinning all year round. Through our partnerships with Women in Vinyl and Rough Trade, vinyl lives on.

Keep an eye on restock days and events:
Hidden gems won’t stay hidden for long. Knowing when records stores get their new deliveries can be key to snapping up your most wanted editions. Events like Record Store Day will also offer limited-edition releases.
Inspect the condition:
Always check the vinyl for any scratches, warps, or scuffs that could affect its playback quality.
Ask the experts:
Record store staff are among the most passionate music lovers on the planet. Get to know them, get them to know you, and you may just discover your favourite new music you otherwise wouldn’t have known existed.
Look up rare editions:
Brush up on your knowledge of the hard-to-find classics and seek to add some uniqueness to your collection. Do not disregard the used section!
Follow records stores on social media:
Staying in the loop with the latest and greatest happenings of your local sound sanctuary can lead to some exclusive announcements.

How vinyl records are made: From mastering to pressing
The vinyl production process begins with lacquer cutting, where grooves are etched into a master disc. Next, metal plating creates stampers to press hot vinyl into high-fidelity records. After cooling, each vinyl is trimmed, sleeved, and packed – ready to spin on turntables and record players in records stores and homes worldwide. For custom vinyl records, lathe-cutting techniques deliver unique, one-off pressings without involving traditional metal stampers. This makes every record a true collector’s item.
